TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation continues its grassroots engagement with a renewed commitment to mobilising, informing and empowering women to participate actively in Nigeria's political and democratic process.

Through the Women Rise for Progress initiative, the organisation is taking its message directly to women within local communities, creating opportunities for engagement, political awareness, participation and stronger grassroots involvement.

The initiative reflects the understanding that meaningful political development requires the active participation of women at every level — from communities and local government areas to state, regional and national platforms.

Rather than limiting political engagement to election periods, Women Rise for Progress seeks to encourage sustained participation, stronger community relationships and greater awareness among women about the important role they can play in leadership, governance and national development.

Grassroots Engagement in Mushin

As part of the ongoing mobilisation effort, TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation engaged women and community stakeholders in Mushin Local Government Area, Lagos State.

The outreach provided an avenue to take the message of participation and empowerment closer to the grassroots, emphasizing the importance of women becoming active contributors to political and community development.

The engagement also strengthened interaction between community leadership, women coordinators and grassroots participants, helping to build a stronger network for continued mobilisation across Lagos State and the wider SouthWest region.

At the heart of the initiative is a simple message:

Women should not only observe the political process — they should participate, organise, contribute and have their voices represented.

Advancing Women's Political Participation

Women remain essential stakeholders in the development of families, communities and society.

Through Women Rise for Progress, TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation is working to create stronger pathways for women to become more informed about political participation and more actively involved in the decisions and activities that affect their communities.

The initiative promotes greater political awareness among women, increased grassroots participation, community-based mobilisation, women's involvement in democratic activities, stronger communication between coordinators and communities, and opportunities for women to contribute to leadership and community development.

It also seeks to build sustainable networks of women across local governments and states while encouraging a culture of participation that extends beyond election periods.

Leadership and Community Collaboration

The Mushin engagement brought together political, community and women mobilisation leadership in support of stronger grassroots participation.

Taking Participation to the Grassroots

Grassroots engagement is central to the mission of TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation.

Real participation begins within communities — where people live, work, interact and experience the direct impact of governance.

Through outreach programs, community meetings, sensitization activities and grassroots engagement, the organisation seeks to build a growing network of women who understand that their participation matters.

The objective is not simply to reach women with a message, but to encourage them to become active participants in the development and progress of their communities.

Empowering Women to Participate

Empowerment goes beyond representation. It involves providing women with the awareness, confidence, organisation and opportunities necessary to participate meaningfully.

Women Rise for Progress places emphasis on creating an environment where women can engage, contribute ideas, connect with one another and become more involved in political and community activities.

By strengthening participation at the grassroots, TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation aims to contribute to a broader network of informed, organised and politically active women across the region.

Building a Stronger SouthWest Women's Network

The Mushin engagement forms part of a broader vision to strengthen women's mobilisation across the SouthWest.

Through coordinated activities at local government, state and regional levels, TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation seeks to develop a sustainable structure connecting women across communities around a common message of participation, empowerment and progress.

Every community engagement creates another opportunity to listen, connect, mobilise and expand the network.

The organisation will continue working with coordinators, community stakeholders and women at the grassroots to deepen participation and strengthen women's involvement in the political process.

Our Message

Women have an important role to play in shaping their communities and contributing to Nigeria's democratic development.

Through Women Rise for Progress, TSO SouthWest Women Mobilisation is taking that message directly to communities — one engagement, one community and one woman at a time.
